What is Comprehensive ABA?

Comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis is an intensive treatment model designed to support individuals across a broad age range. We work with everyone from infants and toddlers to preschoolers and adolescents.

Unlike focused therapies that target a single issue, the Comprehensive ABA model addresses multiple developmental domains simultaneously.
Our goal is to close developmental gaps by teaching foundational skills that empower the individual to navigate their world with greater autonomy.
Utilizing a one-to-one or small group format, therapy is delivered in the environment that best suits your child's needs. This could be within the home, at school, in the broader community, or at a B.E.S.T. center clinic.

The Treatment Pathway

Every individual possesses a unique cognitive and behavioral profile. Because of this, no two comprehensive treatment plans at B.E.S.T. are identical. The clinical pathway follows a rigorous and evidence-based structure.

In-Depth Assessment
We use a variety of skill assessments to evaluate the individual across multiple developmental domains, identifying both strengths and areas requiring support.
Individualized Treatment Plan
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) develop a highly customized roadmap designed to teach pivotal skills, improve social interaction, and foster executive functioning.
Direct Service Implementation
Highly trained behavioral staff implement the treatment plan through direct, one-on-one sessions utilizing proven methodologies like Discrete Trial Teaching and Natural Environment Training.
Supervision and Management
Treatment is continuously monitored by an assistant behavior analyst, with rigorous, ongoing oversight from a senior behavior analyst to ensure clinical efficacy.
Speech and Language Integration
When clinically necessary, the program includes direct consultation with a qualified speech and language pathologist to ensure robust communication development.

Tracking Progress and Ensuring Success

Progress at B.E.S.T. is never left to guesswork. The clinical team relies on continuous, meticulous data collection to measure the effectiveness of the interventions.

Families receive detailed and transparent progress reports. These contain comprehensive data, visual graphs, and updated clinical recommendations.
The Comprehensive ABA program also integrates caregivers directly into the therapy model through generalization sessions and access to monthly parent support workshops. This ensures the child’s milestones are celebrated and sustained outside of clinical hours.

ABA Therapy

How many hours of therapy will my child need?

The number of hours is highly individualized and determined during the initial assessment phase by a BCBA. Comprehensive programs generally involve a higher frequency of hours to address multiple domains effectively.

Where do the therapy sessions take place?

We meet your child where they are. Services can be provided at our Modesto, Sacramento, or Merced centers, within your home, or integrated into the community and school settings.

Can parents watch the sessions?

Absolutely. In fact, we require and encourage parent participation. Generalization sessions involving parents are a core component of our comprehensive programs.
